PROJECT INFORMATION
The Mid-Town Groin Project was completed to help protect the shoreline from ongoing erosion through the installation of a new coastal stabilization feature. The work included placing approximately 17,000 cubic yards of compatible beach sand to establish the work area needed for construction, followed by the installation of armor stone over marine mattresses to form a rock groin. Designed to trap and retain sand over time, the groin plays an important role in supporting shoreline stability and reducing future erosion. West Construction teamed with Poseidon on this project to deliver a coordinated marine construction solution.
COASTAL STABILIZATION THROUGH STRATEGIC SHORELINE PROTECTION

This project reflects the importance of combining marine construction expertise with practical erosion-control solutions tailored to coastal conditions. By creating a stable work platform and installing a durable rock groin system, the team helped strengthen the shoreline’s ability to retain sand and better withstand the effects of wave action and shifting coastal patterns. In partnering with Poseidon, West Construction contributed to a solution focused on long-term shoreline performance and resilience.
